How are your fitness goals holding up?
Feb 12, 2012 by: Harbinson, Mark
We're now into the middle of February. This is the time when most people's good intentions for New Year's resolutions start to fade away. Have you made any specific changes in your life that you're now starting to struggle with? Whether it be a change in diet, more exercise, quitting smoking, or something as simple as cutting back on TV, sticking with a plan is hard work. Remember that all good things start with a single step in the right direction. Enjoy the daily journey; try not to get down on yourself if there is a "slip" here and there. Just get back on your path the next day and keep moving forward towards your goals.
One of the many benefits of martial arts is that it helps teach us the ability to have daily discipline. We learn to appreciate the process of training, and understand that there are personal victories in every day's actions. We will have our good days and bad, but as a team we keep each other motivated towards achieveing better health.
If you would like to take that next step in your journey toward better health, but just need that encouraging voice to keep you pressing on, then come and see us at ATA Martial Arts. We would love to be ale to help you attain levels of fitness that you never before believed you could achieve. Our staff will not only work along side you, but will teach you how to build your self confidence and personal drive to reach the next level.

Great showing at February Tournament!
Feb 5, 2012 by: Harbinson, Mark
Yesterday we participated in the first regional tournment of 2012. Over 60 competions were registered between the Bedford and Derry schools at this event. With the total competition count at around 400, that means we represented very well!
Congratulations to all the students who competed! Everyone showed a tremendous amount of spirit and Black Belt attitude. Not only did you show off your best skills, but the help you provided within the rings (judging, scorekeeping, etc.) was noticed and appreciated.
Our next tournament will be in a few short weeks (March 3rd). Looking forward to again seeing the amazing support fom all our students and parents.

January's New Training Cycle
Jan 29, 2012 by: Harbinson, Mark
We've just started our new 8-week training cycle. Congratulations to all the folks who successfully promoted during our recent rank testing! Also, welcome to the new students joining us this cycle.
The winter months are usually the hardest to keep a consistent, active work-out schedule, especially when it involves leaving your warm homes to come and train. Just remember that all meaningful goals start with the first step of making a plan. Decide what it is that you want to accomplish between now and springtime, and be determined to make it happen.
We here at ATA Martial Arts are here to help you reach, and surpass, your fitness goals for the coming months. You'll find a great support system here, not only with the staff, but in each of the students striving to improve right along with you.
Looking forward to seeing the results of all of your hard work in the coming weeks. If you haven't tried a workout wth us yet, now's the time to come in and visit. See for yourself how much fun a martial arts work-ut can be!

New year, new goals.
Jan 11, 2012 by: Harbinson, Mark
Hope everyone enjoyed their Holidays. Welcome to 2012!
Now that the new year is here, this is the perfect time to set new goals for yourself. What is it that you want to accomplish in the coming months? Do you want to lose a little weight, gain some flexibility or maybe some endurance? How about setting a goal to just be more active than you've been in the past. Or even trying one new thing that you've always wanted to try, but never had the time, chance, etc. Why not try a martial arts class this winter and see if it might be the start of a new you!
Martial arts is a great way to start the journey of physical fitness. You can start at your own pace, but also have the opportunity to be coached by professional trainers that know how to help you get the most out of your efforts. You'll also meet some new people that all have similar goals, and the support system that develops is hard to match with other activities. You'll be surprised at how quickly martial arts can become a fun habit that you'll want to stay with for a long time.
Looking forward to seeing all the new faces this coming year!!

Great New Website!!
Dec 20, 2011 by: Harbinson, Mark
Welcome everyone to the new website for ATA Martial Arts of So. NH. We're hoping that this new "look and feel" will help to better announce our businesses (in Bedford, and now in Derry) to a wider audience of potential clients. It has been a real pleasure to serve the Bedford community over the last 5 years providing martial arts training to kids and adults in a way that is both challenging and fun. As we expand into the Derry area, our goal is to bring the personal style we've developed to another awesome community, while still keeping the core values intact at our Bedford location.
Please check back here often for regular updates on what's in store for the future, general thoughts from the staff, and occasional tips and tools to make your martial arts experience the best it can be.
If you're a first time visitor to our site, please let us know what you think of it. We'd also love to have you visit our school. There's no time like the present to see if martial arts can help you, or your children be all they can be in the new year!
